Whether you're looking to build your teaching practice, troubleshoot classroom challenges, or expand your creative toolkit, Kelli’s mentorship will meet you where you are.
TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
With over 20 years of experience as a teaching artist, Kelli brings her deep commitment to personalized education to fellow educators. Her philosophy centers on nurturing each teacher’s unique voice, guiding them to create student-centered lesson plans rooted in music theory, technique, ear training, and creativity. Kelli believes teaching music is not just about instruction—it's about connection, empowerment, and expression. These one-on-one sessions are designed to support teachers at any stage in their journey—from those just beginning to seasoned educators seeking renewed inspiration or skill-building.
APPROACH & EXPERIENCE
Her one-on-one sessions for educators are grounded in the belief that teaching is both an art and a practice—one that flourishes with support, collaboration, and continued learning.
Kelli’s teaching journey began at the Old Redmond Firehouse rock camps in Washington and has since evolved into a lifelong commitment to making music education accessible, inclusive, and empowering. She has taught students ranging in age from 4 to 75, spanning all levels of musical experience—from complete beginners to professional artists. Her work includes coaching neurodiverse individuals, including those with ADHD, dyslexia, and autism, as well as young people and adults with other learning differences and special needs.
Over the years, Kelli has led in-person and online workshops, group classes, and private lessons through a wide variety of schools, nonprofits, and social justice organizations, including Willie Mae Rock Camp (Brooklyn) and the Delridge Neighborhoods Development Association (Seattle). As a member of the Seattle Office of Arts & Culture’s Creative Advantage teaching artist roster, she champions equity and creativity in every aspect of her work.

TESTIMONIALS
‘Kelli is an amazing, thoughtful, flexible, and inspiring teacher. She knew how to work with all three of my kids with guitar and piano. She has amazing patience and inspired their creativity. Her lessons were always very well paced. She was always on time. And extremely professional.’ -Kari Stephens, parent
“Kelli is the kind of music teacher I dreamed of my whole life: one who tells me to tune into the bird song before I play piano, to practice listening for rhythm & who tells me to wear a black stone to ground my left side. She will teach you these things too, if you ask.” -Chanelle Allesandre, student
‘My son has been taking guitar lessons from Kelli for more than five years. She is a kind, patient teacher who has taught him technique and has also fostered his creativity and his confidence in performing. My son's guitar lesson is a highlight of his week. I couldn't recommend Kelli more highly.’ - Chris McCullough, parent
